Welcome to words of Wisdom By “George”

July 21, 2008

And just whom is George Woodbury for gosh sakes?

Accountant and President of Monterey Bay Business Advisers, Inc., (MBBA) a firm which provides consulting and business related services, to small business owners, and is dedicated to helping small businesses with PART TIME financial management.

And, just what makes George wise?

86 years of “doing things his way.” Including 15 years with one company, starting as office manager, and ending by serving for several years as secretary-treasurer of a company that grew from 7 branches, in the San Joaquin Valley, to 84 branches in six states.  This has been followed by 45 years in Santa Cruz County working with individuals and small corporations.

George Burns once said (as others have before him), if you love your work, you will never have to work a day in your life.

I enjoy my work, accounting, and interacting with small business owners, and individual taxpayers, which explains my continuing to work “more than full time”, at my age of 86.

I was a navy pilot in World War II, but find accounting and related activities more exciting than flying. (In 3.5 years of service, I managed to never get shot at).

About 35 years ago, a fortune cookie told me, “Sell your ideas, they are perfectly acceptable.” I have been doing that, but to a limited audience.  Now with this, “blog thing,” I am excited to expand that audience.
